After the global economic crash, the United States was the only country in the Western hemisphere to officially continue its existence. But with the over burdened government as it was, there was simply not enough strength left to prevent or even see the final Itnoahn attacks. From the ashes of nuclear winter survivors fled, eventually settling in the Martian colonies. Others left their devastated homelands as well and joined the Martian colonies, eventually forming the Terran Republic, with each state represented in a new federal government that learned from mistakes made before them. The young nation grew quickly from an influx of refugees yearning to be free.
A United System military was organized to protect the new nation, with an interplanetary navy given highest priority. There is enough left of the old world to fight for, and it is a common goal of the peoples of the Terran Republic to reclaim their former homelands. Lovingly called the "God's Vengeance" by its crew, the U.S.S. Relentless is the pride of the Republic of Terran Citizens. It is rumored to have been the only vessel ever to engage in a 4 ship encounter, none allied to another, and survive. The Relentless first launched in 2091.
Capitalizing on long range weapons, the Relentless class has the potential to outgun any ship in the system. It's missiles are not deterred by obstructions and it's built in weapons buff should never be ignored.
